Kremlin
The beautiful and ancient ensemble of the Moscow Kremlin stands high on the
hill towering over the left bank of the Moscow River.
The Kremlin has been perceived as a symbol of power of the Russian
State, the national idea expressed in stone. The oldest museums
of the capital are located on the territory of the Kremlin. You
will see the Armory Chamber displaying the unique specimens of Russian
art of the 12-15th centuries, the finest collection of Russian decorative-applied
arts of the 16-19th centuries, which includes the royal symbols
regalia (crowns, scepters, orbs, thrones), the Diamond Fund where
the world-famous collections of precious stones and Russian jewelry
gold and platinum nuggets are displayed; the beautiful ensemble
of the ancient cathedrals with the unique icons; the Tsar Cannon
and the Tsar Bell.

The State Tretyakov Gallery
The
State Tretyakov Gallery is a renowned museum possessing the largest
collection of the Russian art created by the genius of the Russian
people beginning from the 11th century up to our days. The Museum
collection was founded by Pavel Tretyakov, a wealthy Russian merchant.
Now the Tretyakov Gallery collection is divided into the following
sections: old Russian art of the 11-17th centuries including icons,
sculptures, applied art; painting of the 18th and first half of the
19th centuries; painting of the second half of the 19th and turn of
the 20th centuries; graphic art of the 18th to the early 20th centuries
including drawings, watercolors, engravings; Russian sculpture; old
Russian furniture and applied art.

The Puskin Fine Arts Museum

The Puskin Fine Arts Museum possesses one
of the major European art collections in Russia.
Originally conceived as an educational
center with the Moscow University, the Museum displayed a collection of dyed plaster
casts, copies of famous sculptures of the ancient times, the Middle Ages and the
Renaissance.
The picture gallery of the Museum was founded in 1924. Now the Museum
comprises collections of Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian Arts; on display are paintings and
sculptures of the 14-19th centuries, works by famous Italian, Holland, Flamand, German
painters. The real pride of the Museum is its great collection of French Impressionists.

Kolomenskoye
The former summer residence of Moscow Grand
Princes and Russian Tsars. Peter the Great spent his early years in
Kolomenskoye. The unique architectural ensemble was created here in
the 14th and 15th centuries in order to express the splendor and magnificence
of the Russian monarchy; it is culturally and historically invaluable.
Kolomenskoye is a masterpiece of Russian art, ranking among the first
five architectural monuments of Russia.
The Museum is famous for its outstanding example of the 16th
century tent-roof architecture and interesting samples of the
Russian wooden architecture of the 17-18th centuries.
You can order horse-riding, sailing ancient wooden boats
accompanied by the folk-music ensemble, a Russian cousin
dinner with traditional pancakes.

The Novodevichy Convent
The wonderful architectural ensemble of the
Novodevichy Convent is one of the significant historical monuments in Moscow. The wall
paintings of the 16th century are preserved inside the Smolensk Cathedral of the Convent.
The Novodevichy Convent museum displays a nice collection of Russian icons, fine items of jeweler's
art and needlework. The Convent ensemble includes the Smolensk Cathedral, the Churches of
Intercession and Transfiguration. The ancient burials of the 16-19th centuries remain on the
territory of the Convent.

Kuskovo
You are offered an opportunity of visiting Kuskovo, the beautiful
Palace-Garden ensemble of the 18th century. More than 20 unique monuments
of architecture have been presented. The Ceramics Museum displays
the finest collection of ceramics. The pride of Kuskovo is the most
complete collection of Russian porcelain in the country.

The Moscow Metro
The Moscow Metro is the most popular transport facility of the city. The first
line of the Moscow Metro was opened in 1935.
The architectural style and the fascinating design of the Metro
stations got the name of the "Underground Palace". Almost
all the stations are reveted with natural stones having unique structure
and beauty. The use of different stone materials, including semi-precious
stones provides for an individual appeal of most stations and makes
the Moscow Underground an interesting tourist point. The age of
some species of stones is about two billion years, i.e. about half
of the life of our planet. It's a real stone library exhibiting
a rich and beautiful collection of natural materials; there is no
other like this in any of the world geological museums.
